ANNE T. "NANCY" BATAL

Batal, Anne T. "Nancy"
Of Rye, NH, formerly of Andover, passed away peacefully May 12, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John T. "Jack" Batal and the daughter of the late James and Mary (White) Scanlan. Mother of Marcia Batal-Rogers and husband James and their son Jack of Hampton, NH, Lee Anne Batal of Wakefield, sister of James W. Scanlan and wife Alice of Winchester, Francis Scanlan of Burlington, VT, Priscilla Boyle and husband Charlie of Westport, CT and the late Mary Alice Connolly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nancy was a graduate of Marymount College of Tarrytown, NY. She enjoyed careers as a school teacher of the 3rd grade in Everett, Mass. and later as an interior designer in the greater Boston area. Nancy spent many years as president of the Andover Garden Club and following retirement with her husband to Rye, she enjoyed entertaining family and friends and attending daily mass at her local parish, St. Theresa Church. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Saint Theresa Church, 820 Central Road, Rye Beach. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Rye. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
