BENJAMIN MANSON RICE Jr.

Rice, Benjamin Manson Jr.
Of New York City, died September 19th at home at the age of 83. He was born to Benjamin Manson and Roselle Wall Rice in Milton, MA, and moved shortly thereafter to Peterborough NH. Ben graduated from Milton Academy in 1948, from Princeton University in 1952 and from the Harvard Business School in 1956. After graduating, Ben served as an Army First Lieutenant in the Korean Conflict, followed by many years as a financial analyst on Wall Street where he focused most recently on the petroleum industry. He was a member of the Union Club of New York City, traveled extensively, and was an accomplished photographer. He was also a frequent volunteer and mentor for those in need. Ben is survived by his wife Joan Ross Rice of New York City and sister Judith Rice Millon of Washington, D.C. He was predeceased by his sister Roselle Mary Rice Eldredge of Peterborough, NH. Ben leaves behind sons Benjamin Manson Rice III of Wayland MA, John Coolidge Rice of Greenfield NY and Christopher Whitney Rice of Berlin NH, as well as four grandchildren (Nicholas, Eric, Christopher and Naomi) and several nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army or the ASPCA.
