DAVID CLARK JACOBSEN M.D.

JACOBSEN, David Clark, M.D. 65, of Needham, MA, died on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, succumbing to complications of treatments for esopha- geal cancer first diagnosed in 1996. Beloved husband of Gabriela and loving father of Martin and Matias, all of Needham, Christopher (wife, Anne and daughter, Olivia) of Wappingers Falls, NY and Brian, of Bakersfield, CA. Son of Jacqueline Clark Jacobsen and the late Peter Jacobsen, Jr. Brother of Mardi J. Mauney, and Ken and Garry Jacobsen and their families. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Cristina Mrad, as well as his three brothers-in-law, Diego, Javier, and Fabian Mrad, and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church, 1132 Highland Ave., Needham, on Monday, December 10th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial in the family plot in Newton Cemetery will be private. Graduate of Dartmouth College Class of 1969. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and completed his surgical residency at the University of Arizona. He was a staff surgeon at the Kern County Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA, until moving to Boston and the Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1991, where he served also as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
