DONALD C. LISTON(1927 - 2013)

LISTON, Donald C. 86 of Hanover died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. The son of the late Cornelius and Mary (McKevitt) he was born in Everett on May 16, 1927. He was raised and educated in Everett and served in the Navy during WWII. Donald was later employed at Monsanto Chemical in Everett for 23 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Everett, the Parish Council at St. Patricks in Stoneham and enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards. Just last month, he celebrated his 64th wedding anniversary with his wife Virginia A. (Nigro) Liston of Hanover. He was the father of David A. Liston and his wife Kathleen of Hanover, Paula L. Malloy and her husband Edward of Hopedale, James D. Liston and his wife Lisa of Stoneham, Peter D. Liston and his wife Etelka K. of Montreal Canada and Philip D. Liston of Myrtle Beach SC. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Leo and Francis Liston. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment with Military Honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
