Dr. Eva (Bas-Kraus) Kashket

KASHKET, Dr. Eva (Bas-Kraus) Of Lexington, formerly of Newton, on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Beloved wife of Dr. Shelby Kashket.Lovingmotherof Michael and Julie. Cherished grandmother of Rebecca, Michael and Toby. Dr. Kashket was a survivor of the Holocaust. She was Professor Emerita at the Boston University School of Medicine and conducted research in the field of microbiology. After retirement, she was Chair of the Painters' Guild at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society. She published two books, a memoir of her years in the Holocaust, and a collection of her artwork. Services at Temple Emunah, 9 Piper Rd., Lexington on Monday, May 23 at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow at Temple Emanuel Memorial Park, 497 North St., Randolph. Following burial, memorial observance will be at her late residence until 9:00 pm; and continuing Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, Friday and Sunday, 2-4 pm.
