EVELYN JEAN CONE(1931 - 2013)

Cone, Evelyn Jean
82, died peacefully on November 2, 2013 at the Merrimac Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her beloved family after a long and courageous battle with bladder cancer. She was born the daughter of the late Paul and Norine (Murphy) Cone in Cambridge, MA, on August 17, 1931. Evelyn was a graduate of Cambridge High School before continuing her education graduating from Harvard University Class of 1985. She did research for Brigham and Woman's Hospital for many years and was employed by several local area Doctors over the years. She was a member of the Cliff Street Gospel Hall which became Mt. Auburn Gospel Hall. Two years ago, she became a member of the Byfield Gospel Hall. She was a world traveler and enjoyed photography. Evelyn leaves a sister, Pauline Cone Thurlow, three nephews, Stephen Thurlow, Phillip Thurlow and his wife Deborah, and Bruce Thurlow, three great nephews, Jesse, Benjamin, and Daniel Mench-Thurlow, as well as numerous friends from all over the US and the world and dear friends who have supported her through her illness. Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Merton E. Roberts Jr. & Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown, MA 01833. Immediately following the calling hours a Service will be offered in the Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial at South Byfield Parish Cemetery.
