Sgt. Maj., USMCR, Ret, after 32 years of service, of Newton Highlands after a long illness Oct. 4, 2013. He was preceded in death, 38 days ago by his beloved wife Sarah T. "Sally" (Gannon) Daly. He was the loving father of Rosemary Daly of Cambridge, Michael C. and his wife Nancy of Watertown, Patrick J. and his wife Jayne of West Roxbury, Francis B. Jr. and his wife Janice of West Newton, Sheila Boyle and her husband Owen of Sudbury, Maura Iversen and her husband Peter of Newton and Brendan J. of West Roxbury, the grandfather of Thomas and Michael Mellor, Daniel, Kevin, Owen, Luke Daly, Conor, Owen and Katy Boyle, Christina and Erik Iversen and the late Anders Iversen and great grandfather of 4. Brother in law of Ellen Dunne of So. Boston, Bridget Brennan of Glenamaddy, County Galway Ireland. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tues Oct 8 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church Newton Centre followed by interment with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery West Roxbury. Former Newton Police officer, Special Agent ONI/NCIS, Chief Authorizer of the Comm. of Mass Dept. of Veterans Affairs, and Troop Leader for Troop 242 BSA.
