GERALD "JERRY" SANFORD

Sanford, Gerald "Jerry"
Age 94. Born in Nova Scotia June 4, 1918, died in Kissimmee, Florida, January 14, 2013. Jerry graduated from Wilton, NH high school in 1936 and Casey Jones Aviation School in NJ in 1938. He married Nathalie Proctor of Wilton NH in 1942. He is survived by sons Gary and Paul. Jerry worked in aircraft maintenance at Wiggins Airways until starting Sanford Camera Repair in 1955. He developed a reputation as one of the top camera repair technicians in the country. In 1983 Jerry retired and turned the business over to his son Paul, subsequently moving to Florida where he continued to do specialty repairs. Jerry greatly enjoyed talking about photography with his customers, and was active in the Needham and Assabet Camera Clubs, and founder and past president of the Colonial Camera Club. He enjoyed speaking about photography and is the recipient of many speaker's awards from the New England Camera Club Council. Jerry wished to help shelter animals, and in lieu of flowers donations to a shelter of your choosing would be appreciated.
