GILBERT J. McINNIS

McINNIS, Gilbert J. Of 156 Beech Ridge Rd., York, Maine, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at home. He was born June 18, 1938 in Chelsea, MA. a son of the late Alvin F. and Helen (Coughlin) McInnis and graduated from Chelsea High School. He served in the U. S. Army and was a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. He had worked as a Firefighter for the city of Chelsea, MA for 32 yrs. He was a member of St. Christopher Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He leaves his wife of 21 yrs Janet R. (Morse) (Sullivan) McInnis; 2 sons Michael McInnis and his companion Lauren of Brighton, MA. and Mark McInnis and his companion Cindy of Salem, NH; 2 daughters Michelle Layton and her husband Robert of Naples, FL. and Maryanne Donovan and her husband Tom of Quincy, MA; 4 step-children Rose Sullivan of York, ME, David Sullivan and his wife Rita of Revere, MA, Steven Sullivan and his wife Jeannine of Wilmington, MA and Amanda Sullivan of Quincy, MA; 2 brothers Al McInnis and his wife Rose of Lebanon, ME. and Leo McInnis and his wife Jerrie of the Villages, FL; a sister Pat Reeves and her husband Billy of Lake Alfred, FL; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; 10 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A step-son Leonard Sullivan predeceased him. Calling hours for Gil will be held from 5 to 9 pm on Thursday, April 18th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, April 19th in St. Christopher Church, 4 Barrell Lane, York, Maine. Burial will be in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Springvale.
