FREDERIKSEN, Henning "Hank" 89, of Barnstable and Yarmouthport, died peacefully on July 3, 2013, at the Epoch Senior Health Center in Brewster. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Sabadini) McKenzie-Frederiksen and the late Margaret (Cahill) Frederiksen. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 13, 1924, he was the son of the late Hans and Meta (Petersen) Frederiksen of Denmark. While growing up in Norfolk on his family's farm, Hank attended Norfolk Schools and was a member of the Boys Scouts of America where he earned his Eagle Scout Award. A road in Norfolk, although misspelled, provides all with a reminder of the family farm and the Frederiksen family's presence in the community. Hank was a graduate of Boston Trade High School and of the Worcester Polytechnic School of Industrial Management. A World War II
Veteran, he served in England in the 156th Medical Division. Hank was also proud to serve in the U.S. Air Force
during the Korean Conflict
in the 97th Motor Vehicle Squadron. In honor of his fellow servicemen, Hank was instrumental in the establishment of the World War II Veterans Memorial in North Attleboro, MA. Hank was the President and CEO of Plainville Machine Works, a company founded by him in 1946. Under his direction, the company grew from a small tool and die shop to a premier machining center in New England, employing many local tradesmen. Active in his local community, Hank held membership in the North Attleboro Chamber of Commerce, was a Life Member of the Plainville Lions Club, and was a member of the Masonic Fraternity, holding Life Membership at the Bristol Lodge AF & AM in North Attleboro. He was a major contributor to the Hockomock Area YMCA, and was one of a few early businessmen who made a lifetime commitment to supporting the goals and missions of the YMCA organization. Hank loved to play golf, enjoyed boating and sailing, traveling, and antiquing just to mention a few of his passions. In addition to his loving wife he leaves dear daughters, Carol Graham of Bridgewater, and Janet and her husband Richard Ruggiero of Natick. Hank was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Frederiksen, and his sister, Tova Hansen. He was the much loved "Bubba" to Todd Graham, Tracey Forziati, and Kristin Campagnolo, and great grandfather of Anna & Mia Campagnolo and Vinny & Joey Forziati. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday July 13, 2013 at 12 noon in the Sanctuary of the Original Congregational Church East Street at Dedham Street, Wrentham Centre. Burial will follow in the Plainville Cemetery, Plainville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hank's memory may be made to the Hockomock Area YMCA at 300 Elmwood Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760, or to the VNA of Cape Cod, 67 Terrace Heun Drive, Falmouth, MA 02540.
