HENRY J. "HAPPY" HARRINGTON(1938 - 2014)

HARRINGTON, Henry J. "Happy" 75, died suddenly Thursday, June 5, 2014. He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol A. (Hart) Harrington, He was the devoted father of, Karen A. Hiltz, and her husband Brian, of Tewksbury, Susan M. Douglas, and her husband Timothy, of Winchendon, son, Brian P. Harrington, and his wife Cindy, and family, of Cambridge, Henry was a loving Papa, to ten grandchildren, Barron, Kristi, Michael, Shaughn, Shea, Blake, and Braden Hiltz, step-grandfather to Austin, Tim, and Angela Douglas. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Henry is predeceased by a brother, John C. Harrington, and a sister, Mary F. Gallagher. Henry was born in Charlestown, November 20, 1938, a son of Irish Immigrants, John Christopher and Alice (Murphy) Harrington. He attended Boston Schools, and served in the USMC, during the Korean War, as a Lance Corporal. Henry worked for Atlantic Gelatin, and was a former member of the Local 25. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Charlestown. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his great sense of humor. Henrys Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church Street, Westminster, MA. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475. Calling Hours will be in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Henrys name to either, Montachusett Veterans Outreach, 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440 or , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
