JOHN C. BARRETT(1935 - 2014)

BARRETT, John C. 79, of Eastside Road, Wrentham, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on January 17, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne M. (Kelly) Barrett. Born in Garryfine, Bruree, Kilmalloc, County Limerick, Ireland on January 11, 1935, he was the son of the late Michael and Hannah (Cronin) Barrett. John immigrated from Ireland to Dorchester and has been a Wrentham resident since 1968. John worked as a mason for over 40 years and was a proud retired member of the Bricklayers and Masons Local 3 Boston. He loved all animals, and especially loved walking his dogs. He also enjoyed hunting in earlier days, and traveling to Maine. John is survived by three sons; Michael J. Barrett and his wife Cynthia of Mansfield, William T. Barrett of Wrentham, and John C. Barrett of Wrentham, a sister; Josie Donegan of Limerick, Ireland, three grandchildren; Michelle Holt of Cumberland, RI, Sean Flaherty of Mansfield, and Deadre Flaherty of Mansfield, two great grandchildren; Vanessa Flaherty of Mansfield, and Marley Holt of Cumberland, RI. Also survived by his caregiver; Eleanor Coburn of Mansfield, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, WRENTHAM CENTRE, MA, on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. His funeral will be on Wednesday at 9 AM in St. Mary's Church, 130 South Street, Wrentham Centre. Burial will follow in Wrentham Centre Cemetery.
