DIEHL, Jonathan Edward "Jed" VMD 60, of Weston, MA, died October 10, 2013 surrounded by his family at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Suzanne Whitman Diehl, his son Brooks W. Diehl (and fiancee Mika Strickler) of Arlington, VA, his daughter Anne M. Diehl of Brookline, MA, his parents Edward L. and LoisMary (McFall) Diehl of Cambridge, MA, his sister Sarah T. Diehl of Cambridge, MA, his brother- and sister-in-law Gordon and Sylvia Whitman of Weston, MA, his brother-in-law Stephen Whitman of Easthampton, MA, his sister-in-law Susan Watson of Wellesley, MA, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born February 18, 1953 in Cambridge, MA, Dr. Diehl graduated from Browne & Nichols School in 1972, received his AB in Biology from Harvard College (where he was a member of the Delphic Club) in 1976, and his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He was co-founder of Winchester Veterinary Group, Winchester, MA and practiced there for over 20 years. Jed was an Eagle Scout and a long-time leader and dedicated supporter of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, serving as former Troop Committee Chair and Assistant Scout Master for Weston Boy Scout Troop 157. For many years, he served on the Town of Weston Memorial Day Committee. Jed was an avid skier, golfer, photographer, outdoorsman, and birder. He was an enthusiastic annual participant in the Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father. His memorial will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, October 14 at Houghton Chapel, Wellesley College, 106 Central Street, Wellesley, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Massachusetts Audubon Society (Mass Audubon 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773) or Weston Boy Scout Troop 157 ( Duckett-J. S.
