McDONALD, Joseph A. Husband of Deanna Lee, former teacher for the Boston School Department, died in Morton Hospital, Taunton, on Oct. 23, 2013. Born in Boston son of the late James & Lionelia (Santos) McDonald. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Fitchburg State College & a Masters of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk University. He taught for over 30 years in Boston. He was very involved with Landmark Education and was a strong advocate for special needs children. He was the 'start up' person for three shop programs at English High, Madison Park High & Hum-phrey Occupational Resource Center. He served in the US Navy as a jet aircraft airborne electronic systems technician. He also worked prior to teaching for DI-AN Controls in Boston working with a team developing the main computer for the Apollo Missile. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council at Holy Family. Besides his wife, Deanna, he is the father of Anna McDonald of East Taunton, Joseph McDonald of Saco, ME, Michael McDonald of Rehoboth & Charles McDonald. He is the grandfather of Dianne McDonald of Rehoboth. Relatives & friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Ave., (Route 138 South), TAUNTON, on Tuesday October 29, at 11 AM. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8PM. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Wednesday at 2 PM.
