ELKAN, Kurt 92, of Germany, New York, and Atlanta, passed away on December 4, 2013. Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Cummings; son-in-law, Stephen N. Cummings; daughter-in-law, Mindy Elkan; four grandchildren and their spouses: Jeffrey and Carley Cummings, Lisa and Issac Burger, Michelle and Ben Needle, and Scott and Devorah Elkan; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Marc Elkan, and his beloved wife of 60 years, Inge Elkan. Kurt was born in Germany, left Germany as a young man with his family to come to the US where he became a supermarket manager in New York City. He served in the US Army during WWII. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA, with Rabbi Shlomo Elkan officiating.
