ALBA, Lucy Marie (Bartolo) 75, of Cameron, NC, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at her home. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Monsignor Jeffrey Ingham officiating. Inurnment will follow in St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church cemetery. Mrs. Lucy Alba was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 4, 1937 to Joseph and Lucy (Trabucco) Bartolo. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends. Known for her ease in conversation, even with total strangers, some would be surprised to learn of her extreme shyness in her youth. She possessed an entertaining sense of humor and had an outgoing and comforting personality. She made everyone who met her feel as if they had been friends for years. She had a passion for cooking and loved her vast collection of cookbooks and kitchen gadgets. A self taught gourmet cook, she enjoyed entertaining and was known to host incredible dinner parties and the annual cookie exchange. She also loved to go on outings with her Red Hat Society and Sassy Lassies as well as luncheons and shopping with friends. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Andrew F. "Andy" Alba; one daughter, Dennise Alba Leger and husband James of MA; one son, Kenneth Alba and wife Tara of CT; one sister, Theresa Rossi of Las Vegas; one brother, Peter Bartolo of MA; two grandchildren, Kenneth Alba and Tyler James Leger and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lucy (Trabucco) Bartolo and one sister, Tina (Bartolo) Pizzano.
