FAHEY, Mary Catherine Of Scituate, formerly of Squantum, died on March 24, 2014, she was 77. Devoted daughter of the late Simon and Evelyn Fahey. Cherished sister of Sr. Madeline Fahey, SC of Hackensack, NJ, Millie Kerrigan and her husband Richard of Scituate, Margaret T. Hunt and her husband Eugene of Millis, and the late Joseph V. Fahey, Vincent Fahey, Simon Fahey, Jr. Robert Fahey, and Maureen Lapsley. Sister-in-law of Janet Fahey of Pembroke and the late Phyllis Fahey. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mary was a former Sister of Charity-Convent Station, NJ. She taught high school in CT and NJ. Her lifelong desire was to educate the inner city student and following her heart, she left the convent and took a teaching position at Dorchester High School and then later at English High School. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and was always up to the challenge of a crossword puzzle. Mary will be remembered as a intelligent woman with a strong work ethic. She was a devout Catholic and devoted to her family, especially her many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anns Church, 79 West Milton Street, Hyde Park, MA on Saturday, April 5th at 10am. Burial in St. Josephs Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to Massachusetts Special Olympics, c/o Marybeth McMahon, Yawkey Sports Center, 512 Forest Road, Marlboro, MA 01752.
