PAUL J. KAVANAUGH

KAVANAUGH, Paul J. Age 73, of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester and Quincy, died, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the John Scott Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Braintree, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston, raised in Dorchester and educated in Boston parochial schools. He graduated from Saint Peter's Elementary School and Cathedral High School, Class of 1958. He has lived in Braintree for three years, previously living in Quincy for five years and earlier sixty-two years in Dorchester. Paul was employed in the payroll department for the International Paper Company in Wilmington and retired in 2002 after over thirty-seven years of service. His gentle manner, courage and faith enabled him to endure living with type one diabetes for sixty-six years. Beloved husband of the late Claudia (Cohan) Kavanaugh. Devoted father of Jennifer L. Kavanaugh and her husband Charles Breitrose of Watertown and Emily A. Kavanaugh of Braintree. Loving brother of Robert and his wife Claire of Duxbury, Kenneth and his wife Mary of West Roxbury, Edward and his wife Kathleen of Reading, Douglas of Winter Park, Florida, Patricia Melvin, Elaine Lang and her husband Michael, Marie Bolwell and her husband Frederick all of Braintree, Carol Kavanaugh of Hull, Stephen and his wife Mary of Norfolk, Kevin and his wife Susan of Norwell, John and his wife Patricia of Dennis and the late Howard Kavanaugh and his late wife Joan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, Saturday, May 4th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Friday, 3-7 p.m. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
