PHILIP GREEN(1924 - 2013)

GREEN, Philip Of Brockton, on October 5, 2013, age 89. He was the son of the late Nathan and Ida Green. He is survived by his brothers Henry Green of St. Petersburg, FL and George Green of Stoughton, MA. Philip was born and raised in Boston. After graduating from high school, he entered the U. S. Navy in 1941 and served in World War II, primarily in the European, African and Middle Eastern campaigns, and continued to serve in the Navy until his Honorable Discharge in 1961 when he was a Chief Petty Officer. He was decorated with the American Defense Medal and World War II Victory Medal, among other honors. Phil was extremely proud of his years in the Navy, particularly his service on board the USS Intrepid. Private interment with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Online condolences may be offered at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel 781-821-4600
