DIAMOND, Plato N. 84, of Winchester, formerly of Needham, June 14, 2013. Predeceased by his wife Betty (Mary Elizabeth Belcher) Diamond and son Christopher E. Diamond. Plato is survived by his son Stephen of Sunnyvale, CA, his daughter Nancy Hartley and granddaughter Nicole Hartley of Foxboro, and his brother Peter Diamond of Norfolk. He will also be greatly missed by his longtime companion Donna Kennedy of Winchester. Visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, NEEDHAM, on Wednesday, June 19th from 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Graveside service will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 Wellesley Ave, Needham, on Thursday, June 20th at 2:00 PM. US Army World War II veteran, having served with "D" Troop 53rd Constabulary. Owner of Alma Foods from 1948 until his death. Plato was a gentle and kind man who loved to tinker with his model trains, work in the garden and dote on his cats.
