BARTLETT, Dr. Robert Theodore DMD February 12, 1937- June 30, 2014. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Robert Theodore Bartlett (Bob) of Wellesley, MA and Naples, FL. Robert passed away on June 30, 2014 at the age of 77. Robert leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Despina. He will be greatly missed by his four children, Marisa (Dean) of Wellesley, MA, Ronda (Kosta) of Dover, MA, James (Sonja) of Rye, NY and Bobby (Kirsten) of Dover, MA and his adoring grandchildren, Ricky, Theo, Natalie, Mateo, Jebby, Bobby, Thanos, Bennett, Bobby, Despina and Maemae. Bob is also survived by his sister Ruth Anne Herron and brother, Curtis Bartlett in South Carolina. Born February 12, 1937 in Bradford, PA, Bob served in the US Army medical unit abroad in Germany. He graduated from Roberts Wesleyan University in New York where he met and married Despina and then relocated to the Boston area to be near family and attend Tufts Dental School. Bob raised his family in Wellesley and maintained a dental practice in Brighton, MA. He also was a Tufts Dental School professor for several years. Robert was foremost a strong family man, a loving and kind husband, father and Papou (grandfather). He was a joyful, hardworking, principled and spiritual man who taught us that "family is the most important thing" and to always strive to do your best and to live well every day. Bob cherished his wife immensely and loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up around him. He loved to spend time outdoors, gardening, and reading. He cherished being by the ocean and spent a great deal of time at family homes in Pelican Bay, Florida and Chatham, Mass. He was keenly aware and appreciated all the beauty and bounty that surrounded him and was the joyful center of his family. Robert endured his illness with great courage, strength and dignity to the very end. He passed away peacefully next to his beloved wife and surrounded by all his children and their families by the sea as he wished. He loved well and was well loved. He will be greatly missed. The Bartlett family will be receiving friends on Monday, July 7 from 4-8 pm in George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home at 477 Washington Street (Rt.16) in Wellesley, MA. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 11:00 am at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church 207 Washington St. (Rt.16) in Wellesley Hills, MA. My mother was a patient of Dr. Bartlett for many years and deeply appreciated his kindness, generosity, compassion and humanity. She wanted me to relay her deepest sympathies to his family. Sue Herzberg for my mother Lorraine Herzberg.

I met Dr. Bartlett when I was a student at BU. I enjoyed my visits with him so much that I was often sorry that he was a dentist as we had such great conversations but I couldn't always add my portion during the procedure! I was a patient of his up until he ended his practice. I even have a note he wrote when I was away overseas-He was a very special man.
