Staples, Carol Jeanne
Of San Diego, formerly of Newton, Ma died Sept 9, 2013. Carol was born in 1925 in San Diego, California. She was the only child of Bernice and John Davin. Carol attended Stanford University, UCLA and received her masters degree in psychology at Boston University. She met her husband Ross Staples, a Navy officer, after WW2 when he was stationed in San Diego. They moved to Massachusetts and lived on a farm in Easton, Ma and Carol taught at Wheaton College. After her divorce in the 1960s Carol and her three children moved to Newton, Ma and Carol worked for many years in the Brookline Schools as a school psychologist. When she retired she moved back to San Diego and worked part time in the San Diego Schools well into her eighties. Carol enjoyed reading books and newspapers, visiting art museums, traveling the world, playing bridge, solving crossword puzzles, dressing well, and taking daily long walks walks at the San Diego Zoo. She also enjoyed spending summers with her granddaughter Valerie. Besides Valerie Staples, Carol leaves her three children Timothy, Virginia and Daniel and two other granddaughters, Jessica and Erika, all of Ma. Memorial service will be held in San Diego next summer
