Cecelia Dower

DOWER, Cecelia (McNabb) Of Halifax, formerly of S. Effingham and Brighton passed away May 17, 2010 at the age of 91. Born in Boston to the late Hugh J. and Madeline (Alves) McNabb. Her brother the late James J. McNabb predeceases her. Cecelia graduated from Girls High School and worked for Bob Slates in Harvard Square, Cambridge. She resided in S. Effingham and Brighton before retiring to Halifax. Cecelia was the Secretary of the Grange in S. Effingham. She loved painting, sketching, needlework, photography and carpentry. She was the wife of the late William A. Dower. Cecelia is survived by: William A. Dower Jr. of GA, James J. Dower of TX and Christina Mary Dower of Halifax. She also leaves her grandchildren: Michael Dower of Boston, Christen Fowler of Halifax, Amy Cobe of Bridgewater, Great Grandson Dean Thrasher of Lakeville and Great Granddaughter Amy Fowler. Calling hours will be held Wednesday May 19th from 4-8pm at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rte 106) Kingston. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home Thursday May 20th at 8am with a funeral mass to follow at 9am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax. Burial will be private.
