87, of Acton, a native of Jamaica Plain, April 17, 2012. Husband of 63 years of LaVerla "Jean" (Matejka) Sawyer. Father of Russell Sawyer, Janice Beaudoin, Raymond Sawyer and Pamela Stevens. Brother of Royce and Pauline Sawyer and the late Harold Sawyer. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are private. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Hospice/Ichabod Washburn Residence, 1183 Main St., Worcester, MA 01603 or Masonic Education and Charity Trust, 186 Tremont St., Boston, MA 02111. I knew Mr. Sawyer through his business. He took care of my lawn mower for many years. He was so good at it, and such a kind, gentle, decent man. My sincere condolences to his family on the passing of this wonderful man.
