GERARD RICHARD "RICK" FAUBERT

FAUBERT, Gerard Richard "Rick" Of Wellesley, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at age 80. Rick was born in Detroit to Jerry Faubert and Fran Gallagher Faubert. For 53 years, he was the beloved husband of Barbara Berschback Faubert, of Wellesley, and the devoted father of Mary Beth Mahoney and her husband Andrew, of Wellesley; Renee Faubert and her wife Mary Pelletier of Framingham; Rick Faubert and his wife Wendy, of Marshfield; John Faubert and his wife Elizabeth Pratt, of Auburndale; Michael Faubert and his wife Elizabeth, of Davidson, NC; and Anne Low and her husband Seth, of Washington, CT.  Rick was an adored grandfather of 16: Meghan, Caitlin and Kevin Mahoney; Nils, Tristan and Lars Olsen; Charlotte, Caroline, Anne and James Faubert; Sebastian and Sophie Faubert; Jack and Lucy Faubert; and David and Sarah Low. Rick met his wife, Barbara, in Michigan where they both grew up. They moved to the Boston area when Rick began working on the Apollo project in the instrumentation lab at M.I.T.  He worked at Digital Equipment Corporation for 25 years and later worked as a loan originator at Digital Federal Credit Union, from which he retired in April, 2016 at the age of 79! Rick, known as "Papa Faubs" to many of his children's friends, was very involved with the activities of his children and was a long-time administrator and coach for Wellesley United Soccer Club.  He was also a volunteer coach for Wellesley Little League, a member of the St. John's Choir and a member of the Wellesley Players. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 4th, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist in Wellesley Hills (Rt. 16). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private.
