My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Mark's family and friends. I met him only a few times for business just before this tragic accident. He made a wonderful and big first impression on me and spoke lovingly about the time off from Wall St he shared w his family. May he rest in peace.

So very, very sad. I got the news this past Saturday in between classes making it a truly tough experience. He was a true class act and a really great dad. I know the foundation he and Lisa set their 4 great kids up with will go a long way in healing them from this tragedy. Prayers go out to Lisa, Peyton, Wiley, Trevor and Grant for quick healing from their loss.

Lisa,

This terrible day has haunted me. Your families pain and loss is as desperate to me today as the day when the accident occurred but your strength has to persevere for you sons who will always reach to you for strength to remember their father. I could see it that day on the beach that you have the strength to persevere and to live on supporting your family and your lives that are so important. I wish I could be there to help you...I am thinking of you always.

A fellow mother on the beaches of Provo that wishes she could have helped more.

Dearest Lisa, Wiley, Peyton, Grant and Trevor,

I am at a loss for words, I only wish I could truly express the sorrow and grief that we all feel for you. I cannot possibly imagine the pain, confusion, frustration, anger and other mix of emotions that your family is experiencing. I can only pray that you are finding some comfort and strength in the love that you are so obviously surrounded by. Although not knowing your beloved husband and father there is no doubt of the remarkable man that he was as it shone through each of you.

Trevor - As I sat with you on the beach, you showed such strength and bravery as you shared a little about your family with us. As Brian noted in his comment, when you spoke of your Dad you told us how Great He was! I could feel your love and admiration for your father as you spoke. May you always remember that man, the man who gave you courage and strength. He will always be with you; you are a beautiful young boy and my heart goes out to you.

Wiley - in the mere minutes that I spent with you and the other boys you showed such poise and courage. Taking the younger boys under your wing and caring for them. You truly are a wonderful testament to the great influence your father was in your lives.

Peyton and Grant - although I did not spend any time with you I can tell from the courage and bravery of your brothers that each of you is a very special young man.

Lisa - Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with each of you. This tragedy has impacted so many lives and is a true representation of the kindness and compassion of humankind. I believe it safe to say that every person on Grace Bay that dreadful day was deeply effected. An unfortunate reminder of how precious life is. As a mother and wife my heart reaches out to you.

May you find comfort in each other and the many wonderful memories you have been blessed with.

Forever in our hearts, our deepest sympathy,
Amanda, Kordell, Jordyn (11), Ky (7)

I haven't met Mark or his family but I'm so saddened by this tragedy. Coincidentally, I phoned Lisa and Mark's house last evening because they are listed by Poly Prep as some of the parents that potential Poly Prep families can call with questions. I chose them at random and made the call from Ethiopia where I'm currently based with my family. I found the boys' grandma on the phone and she gave me the heartbreaking news and was even gracious enough to tell me that the family is happy at Poly Prep. My heart just broke. I hope to meet Lisa and her family at Poly Prep where my sons will be joining 7th & 3rd grade this fall. I pray that the family may find comfort in the love of friends and family, and most importantly from the legacy left behind by their loving dad and husband. In Sympathy, Pru Chaiban

Trevor - This is Brian, the guy who swam out and brought you and your Dad into shore in Turks & Caicos. You were right, your Dad IS a great Dad, the best Dad in the world and I want you to always remember that! I am so sorry he is no longer with you and I know you miss him so much already. Your Dad will always be in your heart and your memories; looking down on you & protecting you from Heaven. I am sure he would want you to keep cheering for the Patriots with him and to continue to love school. My son Logan (age 9) who you also spent time with on the beach that day prays for you and your family every night. You will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Lisa, Wiley, Peyton and Grant - Although we never met before that tragic day, we will always be here for you if you need anything. We are deeply saddened by the events that lead up to Mark's sudden death. Your family has touched ours in a way words will never describe. He must have been a wonderful father & husband to have such a strong, beautiful family. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. May the love of family & friends comfort you.

With love & deepest sympathy,

Brian, Susan, Tyler (age 12), Logan (age 9) and Jadyn (age 7)

We often go through life becoming acquainted with others, yet for a variety of reasons are not afforded the chance to develop close relationships. Mark is one individual many acquaintances will look back upon and wish they had a close relationship with. I know I do. He stood out for his humility and grace; a true gentleman, and salt to the earth. May you enjoy the riches of God's glory, and may your family be comforted with peace and joy, until you are all together again.

We bonded as soccer dads and laughed about life. He was a wonderful man and an even greater family guy. His commanding presence was at once powerful as it was tender. I will miss him. Lisa, our thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you and your children Wiley, Peyton, Grant and Trevor.

Our thoughts have been with all of Mark's family since we heard the shocking news from Mark's sister, Sara. I can't imagine how hard this sudden and tragic loss has been. It's a rare man who takes a 3 1/2 year hiatus from work to help raise his sons. He and Lisa must've been laying a super strong foundation in their boys. The world has lost an amazing man but there are four beautiful people who'll grow from his nurture. That can't be taken away. What an amazing guy! Take care of yourselves, Mark's family. With love from Sara's friends, Steve, Trish, Mabel and Violet

Just hung out with Mark a few weeks ago when he visited Sam in the hospital in LA. Such a great guy, and such a healing, calming presence for Sam. We are just stunned -- he is already greatly missed, and my thoughts and prayers are with the family he adored.

I have not met Mark, but know of him through his father who sings in a Chorus with me. We wish to let you know that we share in the loss of your son, brother, husband and father, Mark.
By coincidence, I participated in the dedication of the Veterans Memorial last summer, at Belmont Hill High, which is one of Mark's alma maters, and I was highly impressed with the stature of that institution. Parents, you have done well by your son.
Mark leaves a legacy written large for someone young as he. He is not gone, but lives on, in memory.
Bless you,

Wiley, Peyton, Grant, Trevor & Lisa: We are so horribly saddened by your unbearable loss. Mark was a devoted and dedicated, hands-on father, willing to go to all ends for his sons and their activities and interests, especially sports! He was the perfect dad. We are confident that his sons will carry on his example and that Mark will be forever felt, remembered, and honored in the fathers that they will become. This is indeed an enduring gift that many sons never receive, even from fathers who are not taken from them far too early. While robbed, Mark's sons have also been graced with memories of an all-present father who devoted himself to them. We hope these memories can somehow sustain them and, of course, Lisa. Our thoughts are with you all, always. With love-The Bogdanos Family
