To the Carson family - I am deeply sorry to learn of your loss. I had the opportunity to meet Joe through the Quincy YMCA where he taught a Basic Training class 3 days a week early in the mornings for more than 2 years.
Joe was an inspiration. I saw him take a group of individuals some who couldn't run a mile, some who couldn't complete 3 push-ups, to a group who finished sprint triathlons together. He gave me courage and confidence in myself and I will be forever grateful. He was a man of kind words and giving of his time and always had a smile. He will be truly missed. You all have my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.
