Allison and I shared a few classes together at Burlington High. I haven't been in touch with her since then, but hearing this news really touched me. She was a really sweet kid. I'm not surprised to see the outpouring of kind words here about her dedication to to her students.
Sincerest condolences to her friends and family.

I was Donovan's former student at Hosmer elementary. I had her from 2011-2012.She was an amazing teacher and was caring and loving to me and my peers. She taught us how to make slime and how to paint a collage. She was always able to make reading and math fun and entertaining. She is my favorite teacher and I will never forget the memories I had in her classroom. She will always be in my heart. Rest in Paradise

Deepest Sympathy to the family. Alison was the Principal of the Lincoln School for the 2nd and 3rd grade years of my daughters educations. She always had a smile ready for everyone who came through the door and was always willing to do anything and everything for those kids. In talking and remembering Alison with my daughters the past couple of days they remember that she knew everyone, would do cartwheels down the hall as a reward for meeting challenges as a school, participated in School Spirit day by wearing her hair in tons of pigtails all over her head on crazy hair day. She never hesitated when asked to do the stuff that others wouldn't including letting us sell pieces of duct tape as a 5th grade fundraiser at the Spring Fair and duct taping her to the wall.
Alison will be missed immensely. Thank you for sharing her with us for such a short time. 40 years of life wasn't enough..

Our Deepest of Sympathies to the entire family and friends. My family and I will be forever grateful to Ms..Donovan as she was my son's 2nd grade teacher. She helped my son so much in learning and would use her sensory techniques in helping him. She was truly and Angel here on earth. My family will always be grateful to her. May she watch over all of us as she did here on earth. God bless us all. Rest in Paradise Forever.

Ms Donovan was the reason I wanted to send my child to Lincoln School. In the few hours I spent with her on the school tour, I saw how patient and kind she was, and how much the children loved her. Rest in peace.

I have no words. I miss you already and can't believe you won't be around for any of the stupid things we gather for. You were loved. Are loved. Will always be loved.

When Allison was the principal of Lincoln Elementary, she knew every kid's name, greeted the kids every morning no matter the weather, and always saw the best in every child. She was kind and compassionate and truly loved the students at Lincoln. She will be missed.
