CHERYL MARIE MITCHELL

MITCHELL, Cheryl Marie (Murphy) 65 years of age entered Life Eternal at the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was born in Waltham and was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Waltham and Boston College. She had been an elementary school teacher for the City of Waltham at the Nathaniel P. Banks Elementary School and the William F. Stanley Elementary School. She and her husband moored their boat at Marion, MA and Cheryl was an avid sailor. She was also an accomplished photographer. She enjoyed bird watching. She retired from teaching in 2005. Cheryl had resided in Braintree since 1976 and was a former resident of Marlborough. She is survived by her beloved husband John W. Mitchell of Braintree. She is survived by her brother The Reverend Father H. Joseph Murphy and by her sister Anne Murphy. She is also survived by her father-in-law Edward T. Mitchell of Falmouth and her brother-in-law Gary D. Mitchell of Stamford, CT. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Frances Mary Mitchell who died recently. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 3:00-5:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 9:30am to be followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, South Braintree Square at 10:30am. Relatives and Friends invited. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne with a committal service there at 1:15pm on Wednesday.
