Sorry to learn of the loss of your mother. I had just met her recently, at the breakfasts at the shul. She will be missed

To have known Ida Davison was a privilege. To have been her friend was a gift: A gift of love, caring, education, enthusiasm, pride, determination and so much more, all wrapped up in one special package known as "Ida."

We were among those fortunate enough to have enjoyed that gift, for we were, indeed, Ida's friends. From the day she moved into Woodbridge in Peabody, she held a special place in our hearts for it became so obvious that friendship meant so much to her. She was so appreciative of even the smallest favors and never forgot any of them. However, what meant most to Ida was the time and attention we and other friends gave to her, for she loved being surrounded by people who cared, (and so many did care, especially us.)

One need not search further than her own desk, to learn of this great lady, for there lay the piles of notes of her former students, notes which continued to arrive to the end; notes of appreciation from so many who attributed their successes in life to her teachings; to her dedication to each, helping to direct them, wisely, onto the right paths. And, there were not only notes. There were visits as well. How much these meant to her is beyond description.

In addition to the dedication to her students, Ida also gave of herself in another very special way by volunteering her services, for many years, at the Shriner's Children's Hospital. So many, there too, will be forever grateful to her.

We're delighted that she was able to enjoy the recent honor extended to her by Salem State College, as it's oldest, living alumna. The thrill of that day never left her!

Dear Family of Ida,

Sid and I are so sorry that we cannot be with you all at this time. I tried to get a flight out on Tuesday but due to the school vacations I was unable to make connections until Wednesday .

Ida was a very special lady and will be missed dearly by me and my family.

I will miss our daily chats and frequent outings that I shared with her. She will always have a special place in my heart and its been my pleasure to have had her in my life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love,

Sid, Eadie and Family
