So sorry to hear this late that Kirby passed away in 2015. I was introduced to Kirby by the Boston science editorial staff at Houghton Mifflin back in the day. As a curriculum consultant, I was always happy to execute projects assigned to me by Kirby because I held him in my highest regard as a professional. Belated condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Kirby. It is sad that a person is taken when they should have so many more years ahead. May happy memories heal your heart.

Kirby was the one who brought me to Houghton Mifflin back in 2006. I have worked with many people in the business world and he stands out as the most honest and honorable of them all. Kirby has been an inspiration to me over the years and I am so sorry to hear he is gone. Really sorry.

I worked for Kirby for only one year in the early 1990s at Houghton Mifflin, but ever since he's been a model for me of how a manager and person should be, and I've shared his good stories often. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Kirby's passing. Kirby was a wonderful kind and caring man. At HMCO I sat close to his office and heard first hand how proud he was of his sons and how much he loved them. Kirby cared about his colleagues and coworkers and was very much admired by all. Rest in Peace dear friend.

So sad that we lost such a good, kind man. As I sat near his office, we had many interesting discussions. One thing I knew for sure was how much Kirby loved his two sons. I'm glad your suffering is over my friend.

I was shocked to hear this since I just chatted with him on FB two-three weeks ago. Kirby was a wonderfully kind hearted man and a great person to work with. I will never forget the great party we had when the new TX-CA math books came out at HMH, and it was all due to Kirby. We will miss our friend.....

Kirby created not only a great place to eat but someplace to feel welcome and cared about. He greeted you like an old friend and you quickly became one. He was able to talk at length on many subjects. Never once making anyone feel like he did not want to hear what they had to say. Can not help but feel sad at the loss of such a kind, caring sole. Peace be with you my friend.
