From Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House come fond memories of dear Charlie. A gentleman and a scholar are words that fit him perfectly. His whole family has been so supportive of his ancestor's home. We are grateful, indeed, to have known him. In loving memory of a wonderful friend, Jan Turnquist

Joanie and family:
We still remember Charlie's knock on our front door to deliver his first invitation to a Gentlemen's Yacht Race organized by him for his many friends and neighbors around Hospital Cove. His wonderfully poetic requirements for gentlemen skippers in jackets and ties exerting firm influence on lady crew members dressed in skirts and hats, with the race starting and finishing on the Pratt's front porch, brought out a huge fleet which continued for many years.
Thank you Charlie for so many good times. You will be greatly missed.

A gentle man with a poet's soul. He will be missed. May the light, laughter and love that was in his eyes and heart bring you comfort in the following days.

Joan, We were so sorry to hear the news. Charlie was a great man and a terrific neighbor--always on the bright side, and so passionate about everything he did. We will miss him and think of you and our times in Brentwood fondly--we loved living there.
