We are devastated to learn of Joe's passing. Through a friend of a friend we learned this tonight, January 18, 2017. The last time we spoke to Joe was at Steve Andrus' funeral.
What memories of lunches on Wareham Street. Son, John, did an internship with Joe and his casting still stands in the garden..a bit of Joe rubbed off on John.
We send our love to you all. We would love to speak with you at some point. You can find us at 617 437-9324

Dear Sue,
Joe was a terrific person, a remarkable artist, and someone who will certainly be missed. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
"Troll." I was honored to know Joe, to represent him, and to show his wonderful work in the Nan Mulford Gallery.

Dear Susan, May and Tess. I am so saddened by the news of Joe's death and send my love to your sweet family. I remember Joe as such an open, unpretentious, bold, deep, authentic human/artist who fully embraced life. My thoughts are with Susan, May and Tess.

I just learned of Joe's death from Di and read the obituary tonight. What a loss. I have so many memories of Joe--building a waterfall for our rainforest when Tess was in mixed group; visiting him carving ice at First Night; that gentle, quirky smile; and Tess and May and Susan cheering him on to include me in the family ritual face-washing before dinner when I visited the Vermont summer place. I'm so glad I bought a lizard sculpture from him--my first purchase of a serious artwork. And he gave me one of his tree spirit sculptures. They're both facing me on shelves as I write this. I'll remember him forever, so fondly. And all three of you, Susan, May, and Tess. I'm so sorry for his loss. What a guy. What a life.
