Evelyn Medoff Obituary

Of Brookline and San Miguel D'Allende, Mexico passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 6, 1924 she was the beloved daughter of the late Isaac and Elizabeth Carlin, the beloved wife of the late Arthur Medoff, and devoted mother to Ian, Craig, and the late Steven and Eric Medoff. She was a loving grandmother to Sophia, Jacob, Eric, and Ariel Medoff and the devoted sister of Bernice Krupp, Charlotte Sokoloff and the late Gertrude Gilbert Tobin, Helen Ruben, Benjamin Carlin, and Sylvia Burton as well as the beloved aunt of many adoring and devoted nieces and nephews. The first woman in Mass to earn the designation of Certified Real Estate Broker, she served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Boston and National Assoc of Women Realtors. The founder of Lyn Medoff Associates, a Brookline based real-estate company, she lived life on her own terms with a passion for family, friends, and the arts, and will be remembered always for her remarkable intelligence, strength of character and convictions, integrity, generosity, wit, and inspiration. She cared deeply, loved conversation, meeting people, especially young people, and believed each of us should resist complacency and challenge ourselves to lead fulfilling lives. Services will be at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St, BROOKLINE on Sunday, January 7 at 11:30 AM.
