To the Zamparelli Family. Please accept my sincerest sympathy for the loss of John ("the Zamp") a man who was bigger than life itself. I had the privilege to serve as his assistant register for many years and can honestly say that he taught me a lot about people and how to interact with them in a direct and sincere manner. He was loved by many and will not be forgotten soon.I regret that I did not hear of his death until the afternoon of his funeral. However, he will be in my thoughts and prayers and I will always remember, as will all who ever interacted with him in life, his sense of humor and the grace and dignity with which he carried himself. Dear Betty and the Zamparelli Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your dear husband, father, and my good friend. I've known John for a number of years as a great orator and highly regarded member of the community. We worked together on many charitable and community events over the years...we were always there to support each other's endeavors. One that stands out in my mind is when he was Chairman of the Committee to modernize Ellis Island and I served as his Treasurer. He was deeply committed to that cause. We have lost a good friend and the community has lost a great man; however the legacy of fine service he provided will long be remembered.

"Mr. Zamp" was a freind and at times a father figure. I will always remember how welcomed I always felt being at John's home. Most of the kids (now adults) in the neighborhood grew up playing at John's house. His summer time parties were always a high point of the summer. Wheither he was at the grill cooking or holding a microphone making jokes about himself or his guests he was always kind and generous.
He will be missed but never forgotten.
