Just heard of Jules passing..My heart was saddened as 'he was the brightest light on the block.'
He was a delight to share so many ideas and
inventive times with..Playing tennis, laughing like children at silly things, sharing a book we both loved, challenging each other creative endeavors, encouraging each other during hard times..
He always lifted me up, kind to a fault, a gentle
soul with a natural brilliance and quick wit. I loved
so many things about this child-like man. I will miss his impish smile, warmth, great intelligence and insight, and enduring love for his children.
He always showed me how a simple boy from Maine can come to the Big City and achieve
wonderous things. Always in my heart

Jules was a fine lawyer, and, more important, he was
an outstanding person with a keen sense of humor --
a pleasure to know him, and an honor to be his classmate and friend.

To Jules' Family,
Your Dad was the "best and brightest" by any definition. You know that better than we from your family perspective.
From a public perspective, I can attest to that definition as his H '60 (Gov't major) classmate.
Educator, public servant and citizen, Jules was unfailingly thoughtful and inspirational in his pursuit of values to enhance and enrich our community and society.
May that truth and legacy give you pride, strength and consolation in all the days ahead--as it does me for having known and loved your Dad.
With prayers for his peace and for your strength when needed in the Levine tradition.
