I just saw this today (12/22/16) from our home in St. Paul, Minnesota. I first met Bob when he hired me to help organize the CIEE-sponsored Japanese Teachers Program at BU in 1973. Then Bob hired me as associate director/ administration of the then-new CELOP center at BU. I remember Bob above all else as extremely intelligent, thoughtful and kind--but never a pushover. He expected high standards and appreciated them. So sorry to learn of his passing. Best, Steve Conway [email protected]

I was honored to study with Professor Saitz at Boston University. His classes were a true joy to attend. I have all the notes as well as great memories some 20 years later.

Linda, Richard and family..
I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I will always remember his kind soul. The memories of the Passover seders that I was able to share with your family from when I was a child to a few years ago and the love and kindness Bob always gave my grandmother will always hold a special place in my heart. You are all in my thoughts....
