CARL FRAPPAOLO Obituary

FRAPPAOLO, Carl "Frapp" Joseph 56, of Jamaica Plain, passed away on March 17, 2013. He was born in Oyster Bay, NY on March 27, 1956 to the late Theresa (Villani) and Genari (Charlie) Frappaolo. His childhood was spent in the cherished company of his large, loving Italian-American family. Carl graduated from SUNY University at Buffalo in 1978 where he met and later wed his wife Ann Finnerty; they have been married for 25 years. Carl was widely recognized as an industry thought leader on knowledge management. Carl founded three companies including Delphi Group and Information Architected. As a consultant, he developed the knowledge management strategies for many organizations around the world in both the public and private sector. At the time of his death, Carl was the Director of Knowledge Management at FSG Social Impact Consultants in Boston. Carl is survived by his loving wife Ann Finnerty, his beloved daughters Anna and Teresa Frappaolo of Jamaica Plain, MA; his brother Robert Frappaolo and sister-in-law Alice Norman of Indian Hills, CO; his sister Colette Frappaolo and partner Laura Taaffe of Staten Island, NY; his nieces Nicole, Laura and Genna Frappaolo of CO, many beloved cousins, extended family members and countless friends of all ages. All who knew Carl have laughed harder, sung louder, danced more wildly, and cheered and clapped more fervently in his presence. He was generous, thoughtful and fun - this was evident at his holiday feasts, through his love of travel and any time spent with family and friends on Bear Camp Pond in Sandwich, NH. Above all else, Carl treasured parenthood and family-life - he was the consummate father of Anna and Teresa and a devoted husband to Ann. Life with Carl was passionate in all ways - he will be deeply and widely missed. Funeral Mass Thursday March 21st in St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 28 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, at 2 pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carl's memory may be made to The Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130-3495. My hearfelt condolences go to Carl's wife and daughters. Family meant everything to him and I know you were the center of his life. I grew up with Carl in Oyster Bay and because we went to college not far from each other, saw him often during those years. Some of my most enduring (and hilarious) memories include Carl and his larger than life personality. My thoughts are with you - Carl will be sorely missed.

Our entire company has been mourning the sudden loss of Carl. He was our #1 critic and our #1 fan. He always pushed our company to be better. He was so much fun to talk with and everyone that he interacted with absolutely loved and respected him. Carl will be deeply missed by our entire Company (Central Desktop). We can still hear him laughing. Carl became more than a customer...he became an advisor, a mentor and a friend to many of us. What a great man.

What a warm sincere man. Easy smile, easy laugh. Just a good man all the way through. I hope A, A and T can find peace in knowing that they had him as long as they did-such a gift from God.

March 20, 2013

Frapp's daughter Anna was my son's first friend, when they were infants. I remember laughing with Ann once about how our husbands each believed that his baby was truly extraordinary, in cuteness and intelligence. Yes, of course all parents think that, the dads acknowledged. But in their case it was objective. Frapp always felt his girls were extra special, and as it turns out, he was right.
It's unfathomable that such a bright light extinguished so young. But Frapp packed it in, the living and loving, and all our lives have been brightened plenty by knowing him. My favorite memories are of laughing at an irreverent comment or a funny insight he told with a twinkle in his eye.
The loss Frapp's family is bearing is as immense as their luck in having had him as their husband, dad, brother, cousin, uncle. My family holds you all in our hearts.

I got to know Carl only recently through our work on knowledge management. It is a testament to his vital, inquisitive, intelligent and open personality that within a short time of knowing him, I grew to like him and appreciate his sharp and creative mind. We even discovered a shared love for cooking and food. I wish I had more time to know Carl. My deepest condolences to the family in this very difficult time.
