Died March 26, 2013 at the age of 80. Mrs. Moffett was born October 12, 1932 in New York City. She was the daughter of Robert Gilman Dort and Ruth Seymour Bergen Dort. She grew up in Summit, New Jersey and attended Kent Place School and then Radcliffe College in Cambridge MA. She was married to Warren Christie Moffett, her lifelong love who predeceased her. She was an accomplished equestrian who competed nationally and a lifelong supporter of the arts. She worked at the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, and also held positions with the Boston Athenaeum and the Church of the Advent. She was for many years Assistant Curator of the Department of American Decorative Arts at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Together with her husband, she was an organizer of many charitable efforts throughout her life including fundraising to support restoration of the pipe organ at the Church of the Advent, and a two-year project in the 1970s to catalogue the contents of the Naumkeag estate in Stockbridge, MA on behalf of The Trustees of Reservations. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Moffett is survived by her three children, Jonathan, Samuel, and Sarah; Sam's wife Fiona, and four grandchildren: Skylar and Riley Blair and Ian and Ellie Moffett. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Advent, 30 Brimmer Street in Boston.
