ERNA LASMAN

1925 - 2017

LASMAN, Erna 92, formerly of Falmouth, Mass., died on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Palo Alto, Calif. She was born on February 15, 1925 in Warsaw, Poland. After surviving the Holocaust, she met and married her husband, Henry, in 1950 in Davos, Switzerland. They immigrated to the United States in 1955, where they settled and raised their family in Wilmington and Andover, Mass. After completing her high school education, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Northeastern University and a Master's Degree in Library Science from Simmons College. She was the Acquisitions Librarian for Northeastern's suburban campus in Burlington, Mass., from 1975 until her retirement and moved to Falmouth in 1990. Erna was an avid reader who enjoyed engaging her family and friends in lively, warm conversation. She was devoted to her husband, her children and their families. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 67 years on February 7, 2017. Erna is survived by her son, Daniel, and his wife, Ann, of Boston; daughter, Susan LaPointe, and her husband, Brion, of Los Altos, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Ben and Sam Lasman, Michele Milev and Matt LaPointe. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
