MARILYN P. (THORPE) CARROLL Obituary
CARROLL, Marilyn P. (Thorpe) Of Millis, formerly of Medfield. Beloved wife of William F. Carroll for more than 55 years, died in her home November 6th of ovarian cancer, she was surrounded by her family. Born in Providence, RI the only child of W. Joseph and Winifred F. Thorpe. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Michael and Siobhan Carroll of Barrington, RI; Kristen and D. Charles Dreyer of Ashland; Janice and Richard Sturchio of Medfield; Linda and Michael Phelan of Sherborn and Patricia Carroll and Steven Janicek of Princeton, NJ. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, her cousin and dearest friend Joanne Moran, and a loving extended family. Mrs. Carroll and her husband raised their family in Barrington, Rhode Island. They moved to Medfield in 1985, where they lived until moving to Millis in 2010. A longtime volunteer with the Medfield Food Cupboard, she was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Parish, her greatest joy was her family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Marilyn's Life on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Saint Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring Street (Rte.27), Medfield. Interment will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield. Visiting hours will be held in St. Edward's Church on Friday evening from 4-8 p.m. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute, Attn: Ovarian Cancer Research, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02215.
