Dear Ann, Susan and Louisa,
I apologize for sending my condolences in this email. I tried to find an address or phone for any of you but alas, I failed. I did try the Harding St. phone # I had for your Mom which is all I I could muster.
Both Bernard and I were so sad to hear of your Mom's death. She was a most amazing women, a true activist, one very smart person who contributed so much and for me, just a lovely friend with a wit and interest in everything.
We always had the chattiest lunches, just the two of us and of course, the well known Popkin parties with conversation and way too much food and drink. What wonderful memories.
I still sit in the seats at Monomoy which I sat in for so many years with both your Mom and Dad.
The world is a better place because of both of them. You were blessed and we were as well.
I will hope to see you at the Memorial.
Sending love and sympathy.

My wife Jane and I had the great privilege of eating with Alice at the small table we shared at the victorian for quite some time before she moved across the street to Liberty Commins.I(Tom Witter)had many opportunities to continue visiting her there and meeting two of her lovely and like Alice very gracious daughters. She always had a book in her hands there and was so gracious in putting it aside and welcoming. At no time did she talk about very illustrious career. Quite some time later we talked with her at Stage Harbor.
what a privilege to know this superb person Please give our love and deep condolences to her daughter and family (Tom and Jane Witter)
