ALLAN B. STRACHMAN Obituary
STRACHMAN, Allan B. 77, of Dedham, MA died August 9, 2016, at his home at Newbridge on the Charles. Born May 25, 1939 in Boston, he was the son of the late Hyman and Bella Strachman and brother of the late Linda Krasner. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Communications. Allan married Doreen Klayman in 1966 in Boston. He was in the dry cleaning business for most of his life, taking over his family's business in Boston and growing his own business in Framingham for over 20 years. A long-time member of Temple Israel of Natick, he was a past president and recipient of the Maurice & Lillian Geshelin Humanitarian Award. He was responsible for one of the temple's primary fundraisers, "Monday Night Bingo", a favorite among residents of Natick and neighboring communities. Allan is survived by his wife, Doreen of Dedham, daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Steven Levine of Hingham, his granddaughter, Abby Levine and his sister-in-law, Myrna Klayman of Framingham. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Temple Israel of Natick, 145 Hartford Street, Natick, MA 01760. Interment will follow at Lawrence Avenue Cemetery, West Roxbury. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at Temple Israel of Natick from 12:00 PM -3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella and Hyman Strachman Memorial Scholarship Fund through Temple Israel of Natick.
