AMY ELIZABETH BLAKE Obituary
Blake, Amy Elizabeth 32, of Norwood, formerly of Sharon, died suddenly at Norwood Hospital on August 2, 2014. Beloved daughter of Marilyn Blake of Norwood and Steve and Suzie Blake of Pittsfield, NH. Loving sister to Lisa Blake. Cherished granddaughter to the late Marjorie and Dick Chalmers and the late Doris and Melvin Blake, all of Newton. She is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Amy graduated from Norwood High School in the Class of 2000, after which she worked at Mortgage Master for several years. She graduated from the Mass Bay Community College Nursing Program in 2012 with an Associate Degree in Science, and was proud to be inducted into the National Honor Society during her studies there. After completing her schooling, she loved working at Quincy Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. Amy was artistic and had a talent for drawing, ceramics, and design. She loved animals and nature and was an attentive owner to her cats and dog. She spent many happy times at Disneyworld, Pawley's Island, and Craigville Beach. She was smart and inquisitive and loved learning about and discussing the world we live in by watching documentaries and reading memoirs and non-fiction books. She also loved movies and would watch her favorites over and over. Amy had a great sense of humor and you couldn't help laughing and being happy in her presence. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of her favorite show, The Simpsons, and always asked for her own pet elephant named Stampy. Amy was a friendly, outgoing person with a big heart who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She was a caring and loyal friend and enriched the lives of those who knew her. All are welcome to attend her memorial service on Tues., Aug 12 at 12 Noon in the Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut St., Newton Centre.
