GRABEL, Amy J. Died peacefully at her home in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts on October 20, 2010. She will be greatly missed by her devoted partner and wife Sandy Bailey, her loving sister Susan Rich and her husband David of Brooklyn, NY and their children, Rachel and Joshua and by her extended family of dear friends, co-workers and students. Amy will be remembered for her deep committment to her adult education students, community and anti-war activism, and for her vibrant, hand-dyed art quilts shown for many years at Jamaica Plain Open Studios. Amy's passion for teaching, friendships, canoeing among the osprey, quiltmaking, and her capacity to brighten the lives of those who knew her were undiminished by her three year struggle with brain cancer. Amy is the daughter of the late Sylvia and WilliamGrabel.
