1939 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
CHAMBERS, Andrea Andrea Fessenden Chambers was born in Boston in 1939. She died peacefully at home in Tucson, June 15th, after a long illness. She grew up in West Newton, Mass. and graduated from Newton High School. She attended Brandeis University, graduated from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and did graduate work at Boston University. In 1962 she came to Tucson "to see the desert" and to teach at The Fenster School. She taught English and ancient history, and was an administrator at Fenster until 1980 when she and her family returned to Boston. There she began a second career in banking which she continued until 2005 when the family returned to Tucson. Beloved by her students and banking customers alike, she leaves her husband, John, sons Ian of Tucson and Colin of Northampton, Mass, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Services will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to Bat Conservation International in Austin, Texas.
