ANGELO COLAFELLA Obituary
COLAFELLA, Angelo 72, of Framingham, our husband, father, grandfather (papa), brother, uncle, friend, real estate developer and talented golfer. Angelo passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 unexpectedly in his garden. He was loving, strong, kind hearted, generous and well loved and will be greatly missed by many. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives but no one will forget his magnanimous smile. Angelo was born September 20, 1943 in Italy and grew up in Watertown. He worked alongside his beloved brothers as a stone mason and later became a successful real estate developer. He built his first apartment building when he was in his 20's. He married the love of his life Maria and raised their three children. Papa Ange's greatest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always brought a huge smile to his face and he was the happiest when surrounded by them. He loved to walk the beach in Jupiter, FL, take care of his garden, fish and of course golf especially with his grandson Gabe, his #1 golf partner. Angelo was his family's most profound advice-giver and most animated story teller, he likened everything in life to having your health and your family. He was known on the course at Marlborough Country Club as well as the Abacoa Golf Course in Jupiter, FL for his humor and impressive skill. A man passionate about his health, he had an unwavering perspective on life and lived each day graciously and with so much love. A devoted and steadfast husband he is survived by his beloved wife of forty-three years, Maria (Biviano) Colafella of Framingham, his daughter Jennifer Fonte and her husband Nick of Sudbury, his daughter Joanne Peterson and her husband Eric of Framingham, his son Stephen Bonica and his wife Celeste of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren Sabrina Particelli (Mark), EJ Peterson (Dee), Kady Bonica, Gabe, Angelina and Liliana Fonte, and his great grandchildren Maya and Luke Particelli. He is also survived by his sister Marietta Persico and her husband Tony, his brother Nicola Colafella, his sisters in law Maria Colafella and Anna Maria Colafella, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Angelina DeAngelis, Vincenzo and Teodoro Colafella. Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.), FRAMINGHAM will be Sunday from 2 – 5 PM.
