1930 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
BERG, Anne (Gilmer) 85, Sept. 27, 1930 Sept. 22, 2016. Anne passed away peacefully from a tired heart that could no longer keep up with her zest for life. She was born in New York, NY on September 27, 1930, to John and Agnes Gilmer. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1950 with a B.A. in business administration and remained a life long member of her Alpha Phi sorority. On August 25, 1956, she married Robert Berg and moved with him to Lexington, MA, where for 40 years she was an involved member of her community. Her passions were pottery, art history and landscape design. In 1998, she and her husband moved to Portland, OR where she again became active with numerous local organizations. She renewed her passion for travel after the death of her husband and spent much time touring the far east, as well as many trips with her grandchildren. She is survived and dearly missed by her daughter, Deedie (Tod Bassham) Bassham; son, Bill Berg; and two grandchildren, Joie and Kinley Bassham. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Jean Cooper. A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2016 in Portland, OR with a burial in the spring of 2017 in Gilmanton, NH. Donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
