BRYANT R. PAGE Obituary
PAGE, Bryant R. 98, of Acton, MA, passed away peacefully on Sun., Sept. 9, 2018 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House. Bryant was born in 1920 in West Newbury, MA, the beloved son of Dr. John C. Page and Marion Reed Page. Always a positive thinker and problem solver, Bryant was often asked how he did what he did to which he always responded, "I never knew that I couldn't." He served honorably in the Navy from 1943-1946 on the USS Bivin in the South Pacific, was an adventure traveler with a passion for Africa, fishing, and all things nature, and contributed greatly to science as an engineer who designed and built coating machines for fiber optic filters sold worldwide. He created parts to repair the Hubble Telescope and was very proud to have designed and created pieces pivotal to a NASA-built machine that currently sits on the moon. He had a grand love of music, poetry, and people, but his greatest love was his family who was always inspired by his tremendous wit and sense of humor. Bryant is survived by his three daughters, Tenley Page Bevins (Danvers), Belinda A. Pollard (Milford), and Madelyn F. Page (W. Boylston). Bryant leaves behind four beautiful granddaughters, Briana Bevins, Kelsey Bevins, Ruth Pollard, and Taryn Gomez, his precious new great-granddaughter, Eliza, two sons-in-law, Peter Bevins and Donald Pollard, former daughter-in-law Shawn Page, and many extended family members and faithful friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Thelma, his son, B. Reed Page Jr., and his brothers, John C. Page of Gorham, ME and Lot B. Page of Lincoln, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Thurs., Sept. 13th from 5-8pm at The Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave, (Rte 111) ACTON, MA. A Funeral Service in memory of Bryant will be held on Fri., Sept. 14th, at 10:00am at The Acton Congregational Church, 12 Concord Rd, Acton, MA to celebrate Bryant's incredible life.
