She is survived by her parents, Ted and Miranda, and her brothers, Schuyler and Tristan, in addition to her paternal grandparents and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Growing up summering on Cape Ann, Nina learned to sail at the Eastern Point Yacht Club. She attended the Winsor School in Boston where she was captain of the sailing team and graduated in 2006. Before her illness she attended both Bard College and Rollins College where she sailed at a varsity level. When diagnosed with cancer in January of 2011 Nina began a journey, seeking the most innovative treatments, pushing the boundaries of contemporary medicine in America. She received extraordinary care at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, the Fachkrankenhaus in Coswig, Germany and at the Paracelsus Clinic in Lustmuhl, Switzerland. Her family would like to express their deep appreciation to all who cared for her. She was a vibrant, intelligent, witty young woman who touched many hearts along the way.
